Lowry takes a brace of top ten results

Ian Lowry’s brace of top ten results [8th & 9th] helped maintain his top five placing in the BSB championship; all the more impressive as the 23-year-old was riding all weekend with a viral infection that he has struggled to shake off this month.

Ian Lowry
“I’m really struggling with niggly little health problems at the minute, but I don’t want to make excuses – in the circumstances it was damage limitation again this weekend. We made Q3 in the Roll for Poll and that was encouraging, but I know I’m better than the lower end of the top ten and so is our bike. Fourth place in the championship is still not out of the question and Oulton Park is my favourite circuit, so fingers crossed.”

Ian Lowry has consolidated his top five position in the championship but unfortunately he was again suffering from a viral infection, which has plagued him all summer. It’s unfortunate for him as he has put a big effort into his debut season in the Superbike class, in terms of his physical preparation. He did show great determination to finish both races, so hopefully with a bit of rest he can finish the season on a high at Oulton.
