CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (formerly known as Carbon Reduction Commitment) 

Introduction
The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme is a new, mandatory emissions trading scheme designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce the amount CO2 emitted in the UK. Its target is to reduce.

Those organisations required to participate in the scheme must monitor energy use, report on their and then purchase allowances, sold by Government, to cover these emissions each year. Companies which do not meet their legal obligations will be fined.

Does Your Organisation Qualify?
It is compulsory for all large organisations, in both the public and private sector, with a total annual electricity consumption of at least 6,000 MWh to participate in the scheme. All organisations with a half hourly electricity meter, who’s consumption is less than 6,000 MWh’s must make an annual information disclosure.

Reporting and Forecasting

Those organisations affected are now legally obliged to keep comprehensive and accurate records of all associated CO2 Emissions. Annual submissions must include an Emissions Report, a Carbon Footprint Report and a completed Evidence Pack.
